Asahel was to buy out the rights of Polly Chapin, Nancy Chapin's three children, Henry H. and Harvey, and half of the rights of the children of Sally Wars. On January 13, 1829 at Brutus, NY, he married Melinda Bingham, born Feb. 16, 1809. She was the daughter of Ezra and Anna Miller Bingham. Ezra Bingham was born Dec 31, 1784; died April 4, 1844.
