He was an elder of the Church, an active Rotarian, member of the Coolspring Institute, and a participant in many Community CivicProjects. His memorial service was May 15, 1976 in the First Presbyterian Church, Michigan City, Indiana. His first wife was Mildred Cochran. Their daughter was Joan. She married Robert B. Morrison on June 17, ? in Lafayette, Indiana
